Linda, the strong (fresh and easy).

I got to be a guardian angel last night.

After spending a delightful day de-dog hairing the domicile, I headed off in TJ.  Not for any particular reason, just for a drive till I figured out what I wanted to do for dinner.  I decided to let my intuition guide me.  Just as I was about to pass Fresh and Easy, I felt compelled so I quickly cut across two lanes to pull into the parking lot.

Not sure what would be there.  Logic dictated that I get something already hot and ready to eat.  I had run out of propane and it was too late in the day to get more.  I headed in to the store, walked around a little bit, looked at a few things, including Ice Cream and Vitamins.  Found nothing.

On my way out of the store, I passed a woman sitting on the floor in front of the checkout.  All by herself she just sat there, looking around with her eyes slightly glazed over.  Everyone was just ignoring her.  I assessed the situation and proceeded with a smile.  As a former “not well” person, I have had low blood sugar dips as well as seizures that sent me to the floor in lieu of falling.  I recognized the scenario.

Sure enough, she had sunk into an aura, feared a seizure and sat down.   The manager had gotten her a green smoothie and left her there to recover.  So I finished checking out her groceries (even acted as if I were the clerk to lighten the mood), I lifted her off the floor, got her safely to my Jeep and gave her a ride home.

At her home I juiced her some spinach and celery, and talked with her until her head had cleared enough to drive her back to her vehicle.  Interesting person for certain.

Then I treated myself to a Capastrami because it seems Capriottis is now open till 9.  Oh how the blessings flow!

The day of the skunk

:::Here’s what I learned:::
When someone says… hey, be careful…. You should listen to them, process the information… and then pay heed to their warning.  You are NOT invincible… you are protected.  That means the faeries will send signs, signals and hints all along the way to keep you from the dangers that lie within.
Listen to these.  Don’t let them intimidate you… or keep you from your path.  But if it makes sense, and it’s a help, not a hinder… then LISTEN.
I suppose
I am getting a bit on the cocky side of protected… I challenged it today and it showed me the error of my ways… that’s for sure.
Sadly, Georgie, Grace, Maggie and a not so defenseless, but definitely pissssssed off skunk, also had to suffer.

Here's the rundown.
We're walking along peacefully.  A woman tells me of a skunk that is a bit further down the path.  I thought about it and "city girl" figured that the skunk would run and hide when it heard/smelt three big dogs coming.  Right?  Evidently not.
We came around a corner to a bench on the path and like a ninja this baby skunk comes charging at the dogs.  Grace got it in her mouth immediately.  Georgie kept trying to get a bite.  Maggie egged them on from the sidelines.  I screamed "Drop it! Drop it! DROP IT!!!!!!" while trying not to inhale as the skunk was spraying all over the place.
Luckily they are good girls so I was able to get them to put it down and leave... despite the fact that they outweigh me by about 80 pounds.
My neighbor smelt me coming and offered a solution.  Google produced a recipe:
1 liter hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 tsp dish soap
She headed out to get me Hydrogen Peroxide, Baking Soda... the dish soap I already had.  While she was out, I read further down the page she printed out for me and discovered their faces needed something less harsh.  They needed a douche.  The site recommended a specific douche, so I asked for that.
The text went something as follows:
Hi there Mish, I know you and I just met and thus this is a particularly embarrassing question to ask.  But rest assured, it should make us friends for life.  Can you pick me up a douche?  Three actually.  One for each dog.          Then I went on to tell her the specific kind to get.
Ahhh, never a dull moment.

The ALL GIRL tour - cast of characters

Hi there, my name is Penelope Pendragon I am a WISH Facilitator who is on a journey across, around and through America the Beautiful on an All Girl Tour.
Traveling with me are my dogs: Grace, George and Maggie.
The RH (Rolling House) is Rhiannon.
The Jeep is TJ
The GPS is Jill

Grace is my dog, she is the protector, the companion and the queen.  Grace is a beautiful, regal, royal Akita.  If anyone needs to believe I am protected, she is willing to send out a Big Dog bark to assure them.  And although she's never bit anyone, I'm sure if anyone threatened me, she would step up and handle it.

Georgie is Grace's dog, and little sister.  Same parents, different litter.  Georgie is the spokesdog of the group.  If there is need for a walk, cookies, dinner, petting... whatever, Georgie is the one who will let me know in no uncertain terms what she/they need.  Georgie's life may have started with health problems and distress, but nowadays she is the calmest, coolest, most chill dog I've ever met.  She offers only visual protection because Georgie is the softest dog in the world, right down to her soul.

Maggie is my son's dog.  She is a Chow/Shepard/Badger/BabyHarpSeal mix.  I took full custody of her when my son went into the AirForce in May of 2010.  Maggie is our First Alert system.  She knows if anyone is even THINKING about coming near us and she will most certainly sound the alert.  We say she's part Badger because she hunts like one and fights like one.  Her coloring is similar as well.  When she rolls on her back, her white fur wrinkles up around her face.  With her beautiful big brown eyes that have a thick application of black eyeliner, she looks just like a baby harp seal.

Rhiannon is the RH (Rolling House).  At first, I thought she was female, but it turns out she is actually a gay male, so we still put her in the AllGirl category.  I determined this gay male status when she ate the Queen CD and wouldn't let it go.  Now we start every big journey with "We Will Rock You" followed of course, by "We are the Champions".  I'm quite thankful she ate that CD.  It provides me with inspiration each and every time it is played.
Rhiannon is a 34' 1988 Fleetwood Pace Arrow.  The Queen of her class (which may actually be why she ate the CD).  I bought her from a man I call "Gadget".  I'm sure there will be more on Gadget as this blog develops.  He is a character and I am thankful to always have him on the other end of the phone if I have any problems.

TJ is the jeep we have in tow.  She was TJ (The Jeep) before I even realized she is actually a TJ series.  I didn't care much about the series name since the CJ series in the 80's went to the YJ square headlights model.  Imagine my surprise that I chose the right name for her series.

Jill is our GPS.  You may see in future posts that Jill and I have our battles.  I am hoping for a "Huge Vehicle" setting to magically appear on Jill one day so she'll understand the magnitude of the vehicle we are traveling in.  I thought the BUS setting would work, but that just gives public transit routes.

I hope you enjoy our adventures.
